What was your inspiration for pursuing a job in STEM?
“I have always wanted to be able to help people from the background. Growing up I used to watch forensics shows with my grandfather and from the moment I started watching them, I knew that was who I wanted to be, and what I wanted to do.”
What was your favorite part of the Accelerate Success program while attending Le Moyne College?
“My favorite part of the program was meeting other people that had the same passion as me. I also enjoyed having a space to develop my networking skills and having discussions with women who shared the same passions as me.”
How did Accelerate Success help you prepare for your career?
“The program helped me greatly by helping give me the opportunity to not only conduct research but to connect with so many people. I was connected with a very prominent name in the forensic science community in which I often still view relevant webinars for the field that I’m in, helping me further my education even now in my professional career. It helped me learn many communication and networking skills that have translated into my current position at the laboratory I work at as well, where we communicate with many different individuals including forensic scientists, troopers, and lawyers.”
Bryanna’s Advice
“Women can do anything that they want to do, including work in a male-dominated field, and be just as successful, if not more. It will get hard sometimes, and it can be frustrating, but never forget the reason you are pursuing what you are. Follow your dreams, and use all the resources available to you, such as the ones offered through Accelerate Success.”
