What was your inspiration for pursuing a job in STEM?
“Early experiences on my family's farm showed me the beauty and complexity of the food system. My biology and chemistry classes at Le Moyne showed me how science could explore these complexities. Heading into graduate school, I knew I wanted to combine my passion for food and agriculture with research.”
What was your favorite part of the Accelerate Success program while attending Le Moyne College?
“My favorite part of Accelerate Success was the regular meetings with my peers. They were a great opportunity to meet new people and build skills that prepared me for my next steps after college.”
How did Accelerate Success help you prepare for your career?
“The Accelerate Success program allowed me to hear from other women in science who had careers in many different fields. Their confidence and determination inspired me, and I knew I wanted to grow up to be like them. Additionally, I found the Accelerate Success program at Le Moyne incredibly helpful for the community it gave me with other female scientists at my university, both in and out of my major. The relationships I made through this program have been deeply rewarding, and I still value them today.”
Eva’s Advice
“Build a strong foundation in your early coursework, then use those concepts and skills to think about big ideas. Have the courage to think big! And go to office hours!”
